This workshop introduces the principles and practices to understand Docker and its ecosystem. Experimenting with light virtualization, containers and images, rapid deployment, scaling and orchestration will help you to speed up your devops flow.

Liuggio aka Giulio De Donato is a passionate open source developer, he is the Docker Advocate at XPeppers. Expert in e-commerce platforms and Service Oriented Architecture, he is actively involved in the PHP community and Golang ecosystem. An open source library he created is currently used by wikipedia and the composer badges are used by all the PHP github repositories. He is known as evangelist of good design, code quality and Dev-Ops methodologies.

PREREQUISITES NEEDED FROM ATTENDEES
This will be a full-day workshop about Docker and containers.
No prior knowledge of Docker is required. However, since Docker is a platform to develop applications, this workshop is primarily geared towards folks with prior basic development skill and basic shell *nix knowledge.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Bring your laptops!
Participants are required to install the latest version of Virtualbox.
If you want you can install on your computer the latest version of:
– Docker-engine more info at https://docs.docker.com/engine/installation/
– Docker swarm
– Docker-compose
– Docker-machine and one of any docker-machine drivers: Virtual box or Amazon (api key) or Digital ocean (api key).
Partecipants need to bring to the workshop their own laptop
